Good Evening from Starting Chain. We love seeing the beauty and creativity of the crocheted works shared with us by our readers. We especially like it when information is given about inspiration, if a pattern was used and, if so, its name and source, and details about construction. Since we are a community online, we rely on each other for information as well as inspiration. We love, too, hearing family stories and about crochet that will be going for charity or for gifts for family or friends. Crocheters have traditionally done much of their art to bring joy to others. We love keeping up that tradition.

Here are a few pieces that have recently been shared with us that we’d like to share with you. Our thanks go to Nancy, Maria and Susan.

from: Nancy’s Nice Knots of Crochet: “Finished! Mount Vernon Throw. With my border it is 48″ x 69″. I used Caron One Pound in Grey, Lace, Cape Cod Blue, White, Taupe, Azure, and Off White. Then in the second row, the next to the last square is Off White. I used an I hook. I joined the squares with slip stitches on the back with the Taupe yarn. I made my own border.Free PDF pattern!http://www.yarnspirations.com/naturallycaron-files/projects/mount_vernon/mount_vernon.pdf”

Thanks, Nancy, for giving the pattern link. Your work is stunning!

from: Maria Bittner: “Just finished this fun summer hat, it’s a free pattern too! :)”

We found Maria’s darling hat at pattern-paradise.com.

We love how the little fishies hang from the side!

from: Susan Wilkes-Baker: “What a neat way to cover your golf club drivers. Fun and funky. Pattern can be found here http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/golf-club-covers-combo-pack—six-patterns”

Susan’s cozies are so cute! There’s no way a golfer would pick the wrong driver now with Angry Bird, Sock Monkey, Cookie Monster and the other guys in there. Such fun!
