A Christening Gown in Vintage Crochet

We’d like to thank Linda Babin for recently sharing with us all examples of the beautiful work she has done in heirloom crochet. They are all works of art that help recall when crochet was used routinely to add a delicate beauty to clothing, linens, and all kinds of accessories.

Linda writes,

“Thisis an infant size Christening gown I reduced to fit my Bubbles baby doll. It’s a Leisure Arts pattern, and can be found on their web site, it’s entitled ‘Pineapple Christening Gown’. The directions are easy to follow and it works fairly quickly.

We hope everyone notices the little bonnet. It all looks like it would be a great project, not just for vintage baby dolls, but for real life babies, too!

Let’s bring back beauty and delicacy! Thank you, Linda, for inspiring us.
