Isn’t this crochet case adorable? I just love how it turned out and the best part is this is a repeating pattern so once you’ve crocheted the first few rows, you can sit back with your favorite show and just repeat! Plus, since we’re just crocheting a small case for a phone or a pair of sunglasses, this project works up so quickly and can be done in under an hour!

I am currently using this case for my sunglasses so they don’t get all scuffed up in my purse, but you can adjust the size to your needs! This is great for a phone case, a makeup case on the go, or a pencil case.

The great texture comes from using a combination of stitches in different rows. We start off with two rows of half double crochets followed by a modified puff stitch. Then a single crochet row, and finally four rows of single crochet two together and a chain. It might sound like a lot, but once you work through the rows once, you’ll be good to go!

Go ahead and see how it’s done in the video below, and scroll down for the free pattern. Happy crocheting, friends!

Crochet Phone Case:

Chain 23, turn, hdc in 3rd stitch and each stitch in row.

Rows 2 & 3: ch 2, hdc in each stitch.

Row 4: chain 1, turn. Puff stitch (insert hook, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop, repeat until you have 6 loops on the hook, then yarn over and pull through all 6. Ch 1) Repeat in each stitch across the row.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.

Rows 6-9: Ch 1, sc2tog, ch 1, Repeat across the row.

Repeat rows 2-9 three or four times until you reach the desired length. Should be three times as long as the width of your phone.

Single crochet around the project.

Cut a piece of fabric slightly smaller than the finished piece. Sew in place.

Fold the bottom third up, crochet along the sides to make a pocket. Sew a button on the outside of the pocket.

On the outer flap, attach yarn and make a loop with a chain of crochets. Make the loop big enough to fit over the button.

Weave in loose ends.
