Featured Member Crochet: December 12

There’s nothing like Christmas crochet to bring a smile. There’s so much room for individual creativity even when we use patterns. This afternoon we’re featuring works done by our members at Starting Chain. Three are Christmas oriented and one will help keep out the chill. The captions are in the words of the crocheters.

from: Bonnie Fox Schwartz: “Poinsettia Square”

from Sue Moss: “My crochet Santa and snowman.”

We’d like to thank Sue, too, for sharing pattern information for her absolutely wonderful Santa and Frosty. Santa is named “Jolly Santa” and he comes from Freepatterns.com. He’s 3 feet tall! “Frosty the Snowman” comes from free-crochet.com. Sue also writes that it took her about a week to do Santa.

from Diane Krupa: “Christmas wreath – I changed the colors from the pattern in Crochet World magazine, copyright 1998 (by Beverly Mewhorter). Using red/green/sparkle-white.”

from: Marilyn Fish: “This is a Fair Isle blanket I entered in our fair this last year. The exciting part is that this blanket is crochet! I included the book cover in this photo as well, hoping that others can find it. I have also made the blanket on the cover and plan on entering it in next years fair. I will be happy to share the pattern if you can’t find the book. :)”

Thanks to everyone who has contributed photos of their work to our community at Starting Chain and everyone who comments. We do inspire and help each other.
