Knitting is always mroe than just a personal hobby. Sure, it can be done alone or in groups, but the real reward is always in giving your creations to others. That is perhaps what caused penioner Elizabeth Mickle to donate her crocheted blankets to Wearside Women in Need, a women’s refuge that assists women and their children who have fled their homes.
According to the news article Elizabeth heard about the charity from her landlord and immediately set out to help in whatever way she could. That way happened to be through her creations which have brought comfort to many in the area.
